Before I took Human Social Behavior class, when I didnt know much about this psychological illness, I was always questionable about my dad and this problem he might have. Now that I’ve learned about it in class, I realized my dad might deffinatley be anorexic.
We learned that it’s all about control and obsession. My dad is obsessioned with fitness and excersize, also he talks about "fasting" and being in control of his bodily needs, so not eating for days even for this "control". But we also learned that people with this illness stop eating all together as much as they can get away with and if they do eat they might throw it up later (belimia? but different because theres no binging and purging). This deffinately doesnt fit my dad. I know he eats sometimes and when he does he eats normal proportions for a grown man (at least I think it’s normal?) and hes not bone thin, just very lean. Sometimes he doesnt eat because he says he wants to save the food in the house for us and in a video we watched the girl who had anorexia loved to cook for her boyfriend, but would not allow herself one bite of it.
My dad also LOOOOVES sleep and gets tired a lot. Which could be from the frailness of not eating? He also drinks (alcohol), and usually anorexics have some kind of habitual thing to keep their mind off eating, like smoking or constantly drinking diet soda?
SOOOOOOO… after reading all that what would you say?
Does my dad have anorexia
or just strange eating habits and perceptions about eating?
sorry for the huge wall of text I hope you can help me and have patience :/
btw theres more evidence, if you need more ask in a comment :P
thnx a bunch!!
I notice people are so obsessed with coke and all this other sh**less drinks that are bad for you. We don’t drink as much water, don’t realise that water is medicine. I was a reading a book called "Your Body’s Many Cries for Water". Now I appriciate water but I notice other don’t which is sad because we have the resource when others don’t.
FROM the book:
As a result of extensive research into the role of water in the body, the author, a medical doctor, believes that he has found chronic dehydration to be the cause of many conditions including asthma, allergies, arthritis, angina, migraine headaches, hypertension, raised cholesterol, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, depression, and diabetes in the elderly.
According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, the body possesses many different thirst signals. A dry mouth is not a reliable indicator of your body’s water needs. He describes a variety of more reliable ones, and helps you learn to understand when your body is calling for water. In this way, he claims you can prevent, treat, and cure a variety of conditions of ill health, at no cost, with what he calls nature’s miracle medicine: Water. The author explains how much water one needs to drink a day to stay healthy, and why tea, coffee, and sodas are not good substitutes for water.

What life processes does it interrupt and how?
And, is it like anemia due tot he fact that the cells have a decreased Hemoglobin, or iron amount?
also, is it a type of anemia?
I have mitral valve regurgitation, prolapse, and palpitations and possibly an unstable angina. I work with clothing and then home with a 2 yr. old, 3 mo. old and a 34 yr. old husband who acts like a teenager.
I was diagnosed with anorexia earlier this year, and now I’m beginning recovery, but I have recently noticed a dramatic increase in thirst and urination – I drink pints and pints of water a day and I’m still thirsty. I’ve been to the doctors but she’s still trying to work out the cause – I’ve had tests and I’m not diabetic, plus I’ve had blood tests and nothing unusual has shown up. So I just wondered whether anyone else suffering from anorexia has ever experienced unquenchable/excess thirst, and excess urination? And if so, did you ever find out the cause? Did it go away? Thanks.
I have really low vitamin B12. My blood test result sheet says B12 should be between 165 – 829. My doctors said good levels to have are between 400 – 600, I have only 79. For some reason I never faint or rarely get dizzy, especially during exercise. My red blood cells are also perfectly fine.
Is this abnormal? Specifying age groups with levels would be a much appreciated answer.
