Walk Event Encourages Kidney Health and Organ Donation. On Sunday, September 18, 2011, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Windsor & District Chapter celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Give the Gift of Life Walk at Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens. Approximately 150 dialysis patients, supporters and loved ones participated in this event to celebrate the “gift of life” while promoting kidney health. An outstanding event was delivered where the local Chapter launched a comprehensive education program and faces of kidney disease series while encouraging others to say “yes” to organ donation. Three individuals registered their consent at beadonor.ca, which meant that potentially up to 24 lives were saved. In addition to this, participants of the event collectively raised 000 (net) for the Foundation toward the development of research and patient services that benefit our community. Congratulations!
