Hello. I’m 21 years old and am experiencing lower back pain when I bend backwards. I’ve been experiencing it for a few months and have read if lower back pain persists for over a few weeks, it should be checked out. I’m also very prone to anxiety, I feel like I am short of breathe a lot but I feel now that it may be a result of panic attacks rather than anything significant, although I’m not certain. Another odd symptom I’ve been having for about a week or two is my top left eyelid twitches randomly throughout the day. It seems to happen spontaneously. I have a lot of GI problems but have had many tests and was diagnosed with gastritis but i don’t know if that has any relevance to my back pains. I also did Accutane a little over a year ago but I’m not sure if that’s connected. I haven’t had an x-ray or anything so I’m a little bit concerned. I can’t really afford a doctor visit at the moment and my main question is: Could it be cancer?

I’ve read that back pains may be a symptom of some forms of cancer but would cancer cause pains to occur while bending backwards? It happens mainly when I bend backwards and sometimes when I bend forward or sit in certain positions. Another thing worth mentioning is that I received a spinal tap before, and during the process I jumped and the doctor responded in a critical tone "Why did you jump?!". The only reason I mention that is because the pain is actually in that very area. I don’t think there’s a connection but is there a chance of lumbar puncture complications? Also, when I bend forward my lower spine protrudes quite a bit but upper does not at all. One last thing to mention is that I’ve been doing yoga prior to back pains and did a lot of different back bends. I haven’t done yoga in a long time due to the assumption that maybe the back bends caused it. But it has been so long since then…so i’m not sure. Can yoga result in back injuries that may last for a long period of time? Anyone have any theories? What could possibly be causing this? I just hope it’s likely to be something negligible because cancer scares the crap out of me.

This is a long and detailed question so if you read it, thank you for reading and I hope someone medically educated may have a comforting response. I will eventually see a doctor but right now It’s out of the question.

I just got a job at McDonald’s that entails standing for up to 5 hours at a time (with only a half hour break). I know it sounds easy, and for normal people, it would be. However, when I stand for that long, I get really bad lower back pain. I really don’t want this to affect my job performance. Are there any OTC drugs or something that can prevent and/or alleviate lower back pain in this kind of situation?

I landed hard on my tailbone a month ago. I rested, iced and even used a donut to sit on. My tailbone is healing but now I am having major lower back pain. Sharp shooting pain when I sit for too long or bend over or just plain move wrong. I am thinking of just going to a chiropractor, but do I need to go to a doctor instead?

I have on and off lower abdominal pain and lower back pain, to the left side. I was vomiting but not anymore. Still have a sour stomach and feel like I could get sick. I went to the doctor and he gave me an antacid. Looking like it is an ulcer. But, it doesn’t help. The pain persists on and off. The abdominal pain is mainly in the middle but occassionaly reaches from the left to the right side. Constantly tired. Never much of an appetite. What could it be? I know people with ulcer’s. It doesn’t bring them down like this. Also, it feels like I have sometime in my throat. It doesn’t hurt, but it almost feels like food. Doctor said it could be acid splashing up, then why don’t the pills work? What else could it be?

For the last 4-5 months i’ve had terrible lower back pain. It all started one day after a snowboarding trip, where I woke up the day after and my lower back was in a lot of pain. To the point of where i was immobile. I went to the doctor to get it looked at and was prescribed muscle relaxants and steroids. The medication did help the pain go away.

However, since then I’ve periodically had medium lower back pain. I notice it from the instant I get out of bed and it usually lingers through out the day. I usually get relief whenever i sit down, however, whenever i stand straight up the pain immediately comes back.

I’ve tried stretching my core as well as taken time off from exercise (which i routinely did 3 times a week). It’s been about 2 weeks since I last went to the gym.

Also, the back pain isn’t really noticeable whenever i’m active or moving around.

Any help towards this would be appreciated. I’ve tried looking around several discussion areas as well as spoken with my doctor, a chiropractor, and physical therapist and can’t get a clear answer to what may be going on. They all seem to think they can help it using their "treatments" but i’m hesitant to start paying for services when I’m not even sure if it really is a problem.

For starters, I am 26 yrs old, have 3 children, in good health-although overweight, am on the birth control pill, and in a great relationship, but I have a sexual issue as of late.
Whenever my husband and I have sex, I end up having sharp pains in my cervix with every thrust. Over the past few months my period has been getting lighter and lighter; only spotted for 3-4 days last time. I have lower back pain practically every day when I get out of bed and quite often at night when I am crawling into bed. I have taken several pregnancy tests and all have came up with negative results.
I need some help and answers here and it seems my research has been circling around endomteriosis. I was hoping someone out there had some idea of what may be happening to me.
