I had jaw surgery six months ago and still cant open my mouth more than just under 2 inches because the muscles are still not fully recovered.

My braces are coming off in a few weeks and im desperate to get my teeth prossesionaly whitened, using laser treatment,

However with the method using a laser you will need to sit with thing big white laser thing ni your mouth for an hour and im not sure my mouth will open wide enough?

What are other peoples experiences with this method?
And have you had your teeth whitened?

I did this intense ab workout at the gym and now my stomach really hurts all over. Also the muscles above my shoulder hurt. Basically any muscles related to crunches. Should I see a doctor for this or will I recover. Maybe my intestines popped out or something? Basically feels like someone punched me in my abdomen all over =( When I walk around I’m crouching like a old man.
thanks for the suggestions but I can’t even do sit up. It is ridiculous pain.

I didnt do anything to hurt it and Im fine standing up and walking/running around, it only hurts when I bend or sit. Did I just strain some muscles or should I be worried? Ive tried taking Ibuprofen (I may have spelled it wrong) but its not helping much. Whats the best way to handle this, as its very painful? Thanks!

My friend has problems with her back, which is weird, because she’s only 17. After doing some research, I’ve discovered that part of that could be because those muscles aren’t very fit. Today is one of the really bad days. She hurt it two days ago, and made it worse yesterday doing a lot of lifting and bending. I suggested she lay on her back with a folded blanket under her knees and a small support under her neck, because many sources seem to agree that it’s best to rest the spine for a short period of time this way.
However, right now, she’s relaxing in a banana chair with a pillow under her tailbone – and that’s what’s got me in a complete bewilderment. Can anyone cast some light on the sort of injury that favors a rounded banana chair, and becomes unbearable when actually supporting the spine?
What can we do to help ease the pain, besides pain killers?
Good suggestion, but yes, been checked, and no scoliosis.

On Tuesday I took a spinning class (my third one), and shortly after I had bad lower back pain. It’s now friday and it is still bothering me… It doesn’t feel like it’s muscles, it’s in the middle of my back, right above my butt. It’s kind of a burning constant pain. It’s worse when sitting or when I stand up or sit down.

Has anyone experienced this or know what it may be?

Also, any home remedies to make this better? I have a desk job and it’s really hard to sit still at work with this!

Thanks!

i get low back pain once in a while. i first got it from standing up for 4 hours at a concer. i also get it from sitting to long like when im driving. when i get it, its hard for me to stand straight and it causes my posture to slant forward. what is a good way of relieving the pain? what is a good way to strengthen the muscles there so i can avoid this?

I’ve been having mild to moderate upper-mid back and shoulder pain, on and off, for at least a few years. My neck often aches as well. I’m a 25 year old student who spends a lot of time sitting in front of a computer. I know my posture could be better, but it’s difficult to maintain when sitting in front of a laptop. So my question is, do you think I should see a chiropractor, massage therapist, or physical therapist about this? I feel like my muscles are almost always very tight, but I have had a bit of shooting pain in my upper-mid back and some mild tingling down my arms (rarely). I would like to hear from people who visited any of these specialists. Thanks!

About a year ago I went to the chiropractor he at some point during the apt. moved/ stretched my legs and ever since I have had pain in my lower back ( left side) and it feels as though I have loose muscles as well on the lower left side. This pain is increased when I sit in the wrong position or any position for a prolonged period of time. What does anyone think this is ? Any input?

I’ve had this annoying tension in my lower back/top of the butt for over 6 months. At first it would bother me only when walking about 5 or more blocks. But it would get to the point that the only relief when walking somewhere would be to sit down for a bit.

Now it’s at the point that standing still & walking a block is bothersome. I try to keep my feet apart to give a base to my stance & not shift back & forth. The sensation in my upper butt muscles is what you get when working out and really pushing yourself — that tightness you get in the muscles on those last 2 reps.

When it gets bad, I make sure I’m supporting myself with my abs and relax my butt muscles but that doesn’t really help. I am seeing a doctor in a few weeks about this but thought I’d ask if others have ideas. Aspirin, Advil, Doans don’t help much. Heat helps a bit but only while it’s on.

Washing dishes is awful. I end up having to lean my forearms on the sink sometimes.

Thoughts about what this is?
